Day 36 – When Times Get Harder, Ask Harder Questions

It is time to have a look at some hard questions and begin to address some of the more important factors in relation to our current situation as humanity

This has been and I imagine will continue to be one of the hardest subjects I have taken upon to investigate, and it has taken quite a while to get to a place where things began to click. This blog is the “kickoff” to what will likely be a long series of blogs addressing not only the various hard questions that we often avoid asking, but will be directly taking on ONE very specific question that I believe is vital for all of us to begin asking and considering.

The question is this -

WHY and HOW is it that today as of this writing, we the human species possess the technological and logistical means to remove all poverty, end starvation, drastically reduce or in some cases eliminate crime and violent behavior, immediately begin to restore our full potential as human beings as well as restore to full expression and vitality our environment and ecosystem – but are NOT doing it? What is it that we are waiting for? Why are we holding back? What is the force that is keeping us from realizing self sufficiency and real freedom and a better world for all if that is really what we say we want?

Let me provide some context before exploring the other dimensions of this question.

Right now, we already have existing technologies that can provide absolutely clean energy with zero reliance on wasteful consumption or dangerous consequences to the natural environment. This technology ALONE could set us on a course to being free of all dependency on non renewable rare resources that have been the backbone and foundation for so many wars and conflicts throughout all of human history. It would enable us to sustain ourselves and not only keep our existing infrastructure, but begin to repurpose what is already established in ways that exponentially can improve the lives of all human beings. And when I mention “this technology”, I am not talking of only one device or one method. I am talking about MANY technologies that achieve the same effect – but will NOT be allowed to develop.

Right now, we already have the technologies to turn human and animal waste product into renewable sources of energy, or convert them into materials that can be completely reused instead of left as “waste product”. This technology ALONE could revolutionize the way we think of “waste” and set us on a path of creating easily maintained waste processing and recycling systems that can locally sustain entire communities. Again, not just one single device or technology but SEVERAL – which will not be allowed to develop.

Right now we can absolutely begin to correct what have been commonly believed to be hereditary conditions or genetic defects as well as prevent, cure, or in some cases eliminate certain diseases or illnesses and create real preventive health care systems that not only keep people healthy and vibrant, but can begin to ENHANCE and further support the expression and potential of living beings. Also, not speaking here of just one method or science or school of thought, but MANY – none of which will be allowed to develop.

Right now we have the necessary understanding of the human's natural learning ability and the conditions that lead to an effectively developed human that is not only highly intelligent and effective with processing information, but vastly more creative and expressive as well. Imagine a world in which a person's natural learning ability were to be supported and enhanced instead of stifled and repressed to a point of total diminishment by the time a person reaches adult age. And yet, this will of course never be allowed.

These statements are NOT meant to provoke any thoughts of there being some “grand conspiracy” of shadowy figures constantly and continuously suppressing these kinds of revolutionary innovation. This is not about “They” doing something to “Us”. Because the real heart of the hard question is not why we haven't been allowed to develop such things, but rather why we still accept a world system in which we apparently need “permission” and what our collective responsibility is and how this translates into our PERSONAL responsibility.

It is time to begin considering why so many revolutionary innovations have become shuttered or blocked or in some way kept from ever realizing the light of day, and here we have got to start looking BEYOND pointing fingers at shadowy elites or simply blaming our debt based monetary system and get to the nitty gritty details where we begin to see that each one of us have a deep responsibility to answer to in relation to how we ourselves are propagating and CREATING the very mess we blame our institutions for.

Not a comfortable pill to swallow – when we have to take things back to self responsibility. But swallow we must if we ever intend realize our demands for a better world.

In the blogs to follow I will be addressing the deeper levels of the “Hidden Charge” that we as humanity have been paying into, and has been so deeply embedded into our living that this dimension is often completely missed – to the detriment of all.

Day 35 – The Politics of the Self

Fellow politicians of planet earth – we have been sorely remiss in our duties and responsibilities to be good stewards to the resources of our planet and good caretakers of the well being and dignity of our fellow living beings – of which the animal and plant kingdoms are equally considered.

To avoid any miscommunication or room for misinterpretation – in this blog when I say “politicians” or “fellow politicians” I do not speak of people elected into governmental offces or people who have career or institutional positions in the various manifestations of “government” in our world. When I say “politicians” and “fellow politicians” I refer to YOU, who are reading this document and I refer as well to myself who is currently composing this document. 

There are many “truths” in our world that are not easy to take in or accept – and here it is necessary for one particular truth to be made abundantly clear if the purpose and intent of this blog are to be practically understood: 

We, the human beings of planet earth are fully responsible not only for the conduct of our governments and our world systems – but of our very own thoughts and our accepted natures. We are at all times responsible for the degree to which we participate in our own living and our own thinking – and in innumerable moments throughout our days we are in fact making decisions that will have a consequence for not only our own lives, but the lives of all around us. 

We, the human beings of planet earth are fully capable and equipped to make of this planet a place of honor and dignity and expression for all life – if we would but dare to consider that there is more to life and living than our personal desires and preferences. We do not stop or allow ourselves the courage to really consider where our personal desires and preferences are coming from and whether or not they actually serve our best interest or reflect our greatest potential if we continue to profess that we want a better world and that we want what is best for all when our actual personal words, thoughts, and deeds paint a picture that is contradictory and often in direct conflict with what we profess to “want” in our world. 

It is remarkably easy to profess and “support” the idea of a better world – a world of unity – a world of peace – a world in which we can truly walk as equals and all have their most important human needs attended to not out of obligation but out of common sense and genuine consideration. It is remarkably easy to say that this is the world we want to live in and this is the world we are willing to fight for and stand up for – that we are apparently “ready” for such a world to come into being just as soon as the government realizes how abusive it is, or just as soon as our global financial systems have a “change of heart” and start valuing things based on actual human values instead of exotic equations meant to seek only profit at all costs, or just as soon as every major corporation begins to take responsibility for the social, psychological, and environmental impact of their businesses – so long as we do not have to take the first step or have to hold ourselves accountable or have to be the very example of what we want in this world – then yes we are prepared to “support” and “be ready for” and “agree with” everything that everyone ELSE should do in order to make our world the place we profess it should be.

It is time to get clear with our starting point and face the actual responsibility that we, the human beings of planet earth have in this particular moment in time and to realize that our fears are not felt alone – that we are in fact equal in our responsibility and equal in our absence thus far.

It is time for us to develop AGREEMENTS with the understanding that who we are and what we have allowed through our own personal interests has lead us to a world of consequences – and that we must find within ourselves the courage to not judge or hold ourselves back due to fear of our own past or fear of what others may think or fear of what may happen if the actual truth of ourselves ever becomes exposed – and in this we must, within our agreement as fellow politicians of planet earth – to never sit in judgment or separation from one another – that we have had as much spitefulness and self interest as anyone else and that if we truly seek to restore our integrity, we must recognize that the same right within all others – to forgive as we would like to be forgiven.

The hard truth of this world is not as simple as a single group of elites who mastermind the world to their own benefit – but that a great and vast majority has allowed this to happen because we have not stood up for each other as equals, but sought only after our personal survival and our personal interest at the expense of all others – which is the ‘mark’ that one can begin to see in all aspects of our world – from our personal relationships, our communities, our corporations, our governments, and the behaviors of our nations.

We as the politicians of planet earth – we human beings – have trapped each other in self-interest and competition as we hold each other to our judgments and our past and in this we divide each other instead of being one united house, one united family that understands that we have had issues and personal conflicts but that such things do not have to define who we are and that through agreements we can actually learn how to give and support each other – that our desires and wants do not have to be fought for through competition when we AGREE that we are better standing together than standing apart – and that we are better stewards and guardians of this world and it’s various forms of life when we face ourselves without judgment, forgive ourselves of that which does not serve us or our ability to stand as a house united, and we SHOW by example that we can take responsibility for ourselves completely and insist that others in our world do the same – and stand here in unconditional support as a reminder that we can let go of our past and our fears and our separation – and whatever ugliness and darkness we must face and expose, we do not allow it to be personal – we do not allow it to anymore define who we are or who we now decide to be – and this we do in honor and integrity one by one starting with ourselves. 

This is the REAL politics of the world and in every waking second our decisions are being ‘counted’ whether we decide to be aware or not. Do NOT allow your actions and decisions to be made for you by self interests that corrupt your political integrity. The world is in danger – and the real politicians of the world are the only ones with the power and leverage to change it. Thus I invite you humbly to walk and investigate the Politics of Self and get to know yourself as your own political body – to assess what decisions and what policies you are making and whether that is making you an effective global politician and an example of life, or whether you have special interests that have lobbied your political interests against your principles – and to ensure that the face you see in the mirror reflects a political body that can be trusted and counted on to do not what is popular or feels good – but what is in fact best for all.

The Burning Building -

Imagine that you are in a burning building along with a thousand other people, and there is only one exit. Above this exit is a sign that says "Survival". This exit to "Survival" is only big enough to fit two regularly sized people at a time, or one large person at a time, or one person with a disability that requires that they use a wheelchair or be assisted by others in order to pass.

You realize that there is limited time before the structure collapses above you and the fires engulf the entire building. If everyone finds a way to cooperate and calmly proceed through the exit to "Survival", moving at a reasonable pace and ensuring that people who require assistance are helped along the way so that they do not become blockages for the rest - it is likely that everyone will make it out safely to "Survival" with some time and effort.

If the people do not cooperate in consideration of each other's common need to get to "Survival" and adapting as a group to meet that need, then there will be chaos, disorder, and panic. Energy will be wasted trying to find or force a path to "Survival" and this will ensure casualties, as well as risking the fires spreading more quickly during the commotion. But those who are first to act on instinct and can fight best, will get through "Survival" first and ensure they are not left behind in the chaos.

So far we have taken a look at several groups of people within our story of the burning building, and in each case we have considered how moving within consideration of all others and proceeding as a cooperative group is always the most practical and effective solution no matter which group a person might initially belong to.

There is however, one last group for whom this does not seem to be the case - where for this particular group, moving along cooperatively with all others will actually set them back due to being in a position where they can actually BENEFIT from the desperation of the rest of the group.

This group will be referred to as "The Fortunate Deciders" for our purposes. Here is a recap - 

"The Fortunate Deciders - These are the people who are closest to the exit, and are in a position to either stay and ensure that the passage remains unblocked and assist those who require assistance and work toward a calm evacuation of all to 'Survival', or choose to only assist those who will give them favors in return once they have reached 'Survival'." - Day 19 - The Politics of a Burning Building: Introduction

Here, it is helpful to imagine the sign above the exit door that reads "Survival", and adding the words "Money/Time", and to consider that those who are closest to having easy access and control of "Money/Time/Survival", or more specifically those who have the ability to influence and control how much access others have to "Money/Time/Survival", are the fortunate deciders of the group in that they are fortunate for the positions that they have, and they are deciders because they are the only group who have the ability to CHOOSE how wide or narrow the access points to "Money/Time/Survival" might be, and can either use this to their own advantage or they can maximize the access for all.

Unfortunately, most in this position choose to use it for their own advantage instead of utilizing their position as a point of support for those struggling to reach the exit.

What must be understood here, is that these fortunate deciders are not inherently evil or bad - they are simply disconnected from the actual reality that the majority are facing, and in their positions of privilege they have no actual context for understanding or being able to really relate to the desperation or panic of those in the "Middle" who seem so eager and willing to compete with each other just for a chance to get to "Money/Time/Survival", let alone those who find themselves furthest away from the exit, who are behind even those in the "Middle", who may have already given up any hope that they may actually reach "Money/Time/Survival" and would settle for a spot in the "Middle" where there is at least some chance of getting through, and there is less desperation and fear.

While the great majority of people facing this crisis understand the urgency and what is at stake if they do not make it to "Money/Time/Survival" - the Fortunate Deciders see only opportunity for self-benefit. For those fortunate few, there is in fact no emergency at all, and will find that the more desperate and more hopeless people become, the more willing they are to do anything... ANYTHING... to get closer to "Money/Time/Survival", even if it means turning against each other for the opportunity to please and get closer to those who have control and access to "Money/Time/Survival".

Those who have followed the previous posts in this series by now can piece together a bigger picture of what our world is going through as we now bring in this final piece.

It must be understood here, that it is pointless to become angry with or try to fight those who have control of and access to money and the means for survival within the current system. It is equally pointless to blame them for not understanding how they are abusing their position and to believe that it is somehow "justified" to exact a kind of revenge upon them or to violently seek to overtake them - because it is IMPOSSIBLE that they actually understand or have the capacity to comprehend the need and desperation of the majority for survival. One cannot expect that they be able to relate to the desperate majority who must fight and compete with each other for the limited and restricted access to survival when for these fortunate few, survival was NEVER in doubt and never had to be fought for.

Here is the very secret that keeps so many of the majority in panic and fear instead of working together and cooperating towards the common goal. As long as the fortunate few remain completely disconnected from the suffering and panic and desperation of the majority, are not held accountable for the responsibility they have due to their position, and are allowed to manipulate and dictate the access to "Money/Time/Survival" according to their own value systems and self-interest and having no personal stake in whether or not the majority actually makes it through - the more likely it is that people become more desperate and less likely to cooperate as it becomes more and more difficult for even a few to reach "Money/Time/Survival", let alone the majority.

What is missed by the fortunate few - the Fortunate Deciders - is that simply being closest to and having the most influence over who gains entry through "Money/Time/Survival", does NOT grant them immunity to fire or the unified actions of the majority - especially when the majority becomes aware of the manipulation and deception going on by those who sought personal profit and entertainment at the expense of a majority that fought for survival. Many who have greatly compromised their integrity in order to become better fighters and survivors - many who have committed harm against their neighbors in competing for a chance to break free and earn their way to "Money/Time/Survival" will not be amused to find that their struggle was an artificial one that was completely unnecessary - because all that the fortunate deciders had to do was to let go of their own attachment and obsessive control and manipulation of "Money/Time/Survival" which would have spared the great majority of having to experience fear, desperation, greed, violence, competition, and compromise.

This is not to say that all Fortunate Deciders are simply hard-wired to be inconsiderate and unable to make choices based on what is best for all - certainly this is not the case and in fact there are few Fortunate Deciders in the building who do see that it is possible for all to have access to "Money/Time/Survival" and that the panic and conflict being caused is an artificial one that benefits those who prey upon the desperate, and want to put a stop to the abuse - but are currently outnumbered and require that the majority come to a decision - a decision to instead of competing with each other and wasting valuable energy trying to fight each other for a small, narrow chance to reach "Money/Time/Survival", instead work together and EMPOWER and reinforce those who stand in the position of the Fortunate Deciders, that they can influence and get through to their fellow fortunate ones the actual threat of the crisis, to explain to them in their own words and understanding, why and how it is in everyone's interest to remove the blockages that impede access to "Money/Time/Survival" because if this is not done, and the damage becomes too severe, and the people become too desperate - there will come such a point when "Money/Time/Survival" becomes closed to all - even the fortunate ones who failed to see and realize in time that they were not in fact immune to the crisis they are manipulating.

Here, one final piece must be shared. It is easy to identify with the various members of the crowd that have been introduced in this series - but this series was not written for them. This series was written for the only people who have real access to change. This series was written for you and I, the FORTUNATE DECIDERS and REAL Politicians who have the access and the proximity to the world system - to the infrastructures of money, who have the ability to utilize and choose how we spend our time, and have the most easy access to survival in this world. You and I, fellow REAL Politicians who benefit from the imposed poverty of billions who struggle to reach the level of survival that we, through the system we have allowed, would deny to others in order to keep them desperate and willing to do any work or go through any turmoil to have what we so easily took for granted, having not lived the struggle that they live each day.

This is the task of the Real Politician - to see the interrelatedness of all relationships in this world - to judge none but instead dare to connect and engage all and bring everyone to an equal understanding, awareness, and ability - to stop being politicians and leaders of countries but politicians and leaders of LIFE - to educate those who have not been able to see, to empower those who have seen, and to awaken those who refuse to see - that whether one is lost in the system, fighting for survival, trying to keep order in a chaotic world, struggling with poverty, or given positions of privilege and responsibility - all have an equal destination, and all must pass together.

Day 17 - The Politics of Failure: We can't change the system... can we?

Can politics be a legitimate way to change the ENTIRE world system?  

There is no shortage of revolutionary and visionary ideas that could radically change the way we relate to ourselves and each other as well as the way we co-exist with nature and the ecosystem. There are many groups with powerful and world changing insights and technological innovations that can completely revolutionize the way our current world functions. 

And yet not a single one of these groups has been able to actually implement their visionary idea despite having a very active and intelligent following. The popularity of these groups is massive and constantly expanding and there are worldwide chapters that are very active in engaging in conversations, debates, and discussions about the various solutions that our world desperately needs. But even with a very wide network of supporters and activists across the globe, these groups have thus far NOT made significant change within the world system beyond introducing new ideas and information. 

One of the main reasons for why there are so many groups in the world today who profess to have "the solution" and genuinely do have great insight and creative innovations of ideas and technologies that can change the way the world currently operates, and yet nothing actually ever changes - is that any change that requires a change in the world system must be done from WITHIN the world system itself backed by the agreement and political support of the majority of this world. 

Many of the groups that have come forward in order to change the world have come from seeing that the current system is NOT working, and have taken it upon themselves to research ways and means of solving the myriad issues that humanity currently faces. And while the general mechanisms for how things got this way and what can be done about it are well studied and discussed by such groups, the starting point has been to either destroy or completely stand against the current world system, the monetary system, and the various institutions of control and influence - because these institutions are seen as being part of the "problem" without seeing them as parts within a machine that can and must be changed and re-aligned if we want the current machinery of the world to give us a different result.

This is the trap that far too many potential REAL Politicians of the world fall into - the trap of accepting the notion that the current world system is inherently corrupt and largely to blame for the conditions we are now facing, and that it is too entrenched to be able to change or fight conventionally - and so the only "alternative" left is to seek a means to correct the world WITHOUT engaging in the world systems of politics, government, and finance. 

Here, having made the political statement that they will NOT utilize the political system and work within the current institutions of the world to achieve the changes that the world needs because the world system is "the problem", and that governments cannot be trusted and therefore they will not engage with it, or that money itself is corrupted and therefore they will not work with the money system - such groups by virtue of this stance being "against the system" automatically exclude themselves from being able to change anything in any real or lasting way - because they will find that it is much more difficult to secure funding, much more difficult to access positions of influence, much more difficult to implement their goals without having to greatly compromise their principles - because they will now have to fight and contend with a globally established system while having to at the same time compete with many others for resources and funding - and while all of this is happening the world system simply allows such groups to implode or dissipate or end up fighting and debating with other groups while starving them of political or financial support.

So, how can politics be used in such a way that actually changes the world system and will actually allow for the implementation of the many revolutionary and visionary innovations that have been kept out of the hands of the people by those who serve self-interest and profit above doing what is best for all?

We must see and realize that when we accept the idea that the world system is just "too big" and cannot be changed through "politics" because politics and the money system are completely corrupt, we actually make that our REALITY through this very acceptance, which in itself is a political message that influences countless others in the world who are looking for real change and searching for the REAL Politicians of the world to be examples of standing up within the very system that must be changed and redefining it's very nature and function to serve humanity instead of enslave it.

It must be understood that we the majority are the greatest and most powerful oppressors to change, and that our slavery and servitude to the system can only be done through our acceptance. Therefore unless we realize that we are responsible for the world system and the governments and financial systems upon which the world currently functions, it will always remain a mystery to us as to why the world isn't getting any better, and why we see no REAL leadership in the world that is addressing the heart of the issue.

In the blogs to follow we will have a look at what happens when people choose self-interest over what is best for all, and how each one that accepts the idea that we cannot change the world system through politics and democracy actually makes it harder not only for themselves, but for EVERYONE in this world to be able to actually change the way our world functions.

We will discuss in the posts to come how, despite our best efforts to the contrary - and despite our reluctance to accept this fact - we are at all times influencing this world by our words, our thoughts, and our deeds - and that each moment we allow ourselves to give up on self-responsibility and accept the current conditions of the world - is a moment in which we instruct the world system and everyone around us that "I, a co-creator and fellow politician of this world, accept through my silence the current state of affairs and I abdicate my power and will to the status quo to do with as it sees fit in my name", and how that very statement can make all the difference in whether we will truly change this world or remain slaves to each other's lack of responsibility.
