Day 29 - The Politics of Justice Part 4  - Can Equality be Enforced without Tyranny?

Can an equal distribution of goods and services be enforced by a government without the government becoming totalitarian and tyrannical, stifling the expression of the population and depriving people of what is "rightfully theirs"?

Can a society find a way to ensure that everyone is equally taken care of and can we ensure that the basic needs of all are equally guaranteed without having to take away value and property from others? 

It seems like this kind of philosophical questioning can have no practical answer and when we look at our history it would seem that we have never been able to really achieve a state in which all people are really taken care of without either the government becoming a totalitarian regime with immense centralized power.

It is understandable why many would balk at the notion of an Equal Money System or any kind of administration being proposed that intends to provide for the needs of everyone - because surely this kind of political mission would require many people be "forced" to give up things that they feel entitled to have - surely we cannot find a way for everyone to agree or take responsibility for this world - surely we cannot trust any government or political agenda that claims to want equality for all... right?

Wrong.

When are Laws Enforceable by Government without it being Tyranny?

In most countries there are specific laws that say that you cannot kill somebody or commit an act that leads to the death of another. If you violate this law, then the full force and authority of the government and of the various agencies empowered by the government are called upon to ENFORCE the laws of the society upon you - and you would accept this because you want this for everyone. 

 

When there is a clear and specific agreement within society about what it will and will not tolerate - what it will and will not accept within themselves or each other, and a clear understanding of what duties we expect from ourselves and each other - enforcing such agreements through power and authority is not seen as negative when all would agree that the use of proper force to compel a person to cooperate when they have committed a serious crime is acceptable. 

Having explained this, we now come to the core issue that is sure to stir up controversy and conflict - and that is the proposal that the equal distribution of goods and resources be enforced with power and authority. Even the mention of such a concept fires up walls of resistance and calls of "communism" and "socialism". There is a heavy resistance to even considering such a concept - and we as REAL Politicians must understand without judgment what this resistance is - and when I say REAL Politicians remember I am always referring to all of humanity.

If Inequality is a Crime against Humanity, does Humanity have Permission to Enforce Laws? 

It is no secret in this world that poverty and exploitation of billions of humans is a direct result of the global economic and political system, and that as long as the gap of inequality continues to widen, the more inequality will tend to perpetuate itself.

Each and every human being at some level understands this - and sees that there are major problems in the world that CAN be corrected, but are instead allowed to compound and worsen with each passing month, each passing year, each passing decade - the main reason for this being the excuse that this is just the way things are and there is nothing that an individual can do to stop the world system of money, and money controls everything.

It is also becoming clear that as the inequality worsens and more people fall into poverty while the entire world is trying to manage a debt crisis that effects every single person on earth, things will only get progressively more desperate and unstable unless a solution is found and agreed upon by the majority of people in this world.

The question here is if we as society can agree that murdering somebody or torturing somebody are NOT acceptable and cannot be tolerated - and to allow our government to enforce laws that will FORCE those who break this social agreement into compliance and correction - then why have we as the political majority NOT applied this responsibility to the problem of mass inequality and poverty that has lead to the deaths of countless millions due to economic hardship that could have otherwise been prevented by social intervention?

Global poverty and inequality are not just unfortunate realities that affect some and not others. It COSTS everyone more to maintain systems and infrastructure when half of the human population is disempowered and must survive in poverty and creates a greater strain on global politics, economic inequalities, as well as environmental issues - all of which we cannot resolve unless we address the financial system itself and the massive inequalities currently allowed to exist.

Human beings - fellow political figures of the most powerful political majority on this planet - we have failed to properly classify poverty and economic slavery as a crime against humanity and an infringement on Human Rights deserving and demanding the full force and authority of our governments to ENFORCE a correction. We must STOP expecting for the government to be able to do on our behalf what we are not willing to do ourselves - and we cannot expect for the government to respond correctly to a global issue when we as a global society do not address the issue and demand that our current governments and world systems continue to function "as is".

So long as we do not come to a democratic and political agreement as the majority - that poverty and economic slavery through an abusive, exploitative, and ecologically damaging financial system IS a cruel and unusual torture inflicted upon billions of innocent lives that creates chronic instability, war, and suffering and can be classified properly as a form of MURDER and TORTURE - we will always remain powerless to change it - because the power to change it must come FROM US- not from any government system or political ideology. And so long as we deny this power to the political systems that wish to do something about the problem - they will have to seek the power and authority through other means - namely through FORCE and coercion - and will ultimately fail.

The Road Ahead

The truth is - we CAN and MUST agree that our current system is not only criminal, but is guilty of crimes against HUMANITY - and by taking responsibility for our political influence as the majority of this world, we CAN remove and change the one system in this world that has caused so much suffering - the one system that no political organization has ever dared to challenge - the one system that can ONLY be changed through the most powerful union of political figures - and that is the monetary system and the global crisis of debt slavery.

 

We CAN create a system of equalized distribution and opportunity that does NOT punish or stifle or take away from people who have earned their share. We CAN create a system that does not rely on taxation or concentration of wealth in the hands of an elite ruling class. We CAN ensure that every human being born into this world has access to food, shelter, education, and health care of the highest quality possible, and ensure that EVERY HUMAN to be born is born into the maximum potential to live their life to the fullest. We can do this WITHOUT GUNS, WITHOUT BLOODSHED. This is NOT some utopian fantasy - this is the reality that can and should already be here - this is the world that awaits the awakening of the political majority of 7 billion fellow politicians who will rightfully utilize their political power.

We can utilize a method of distributive justice - where the goods and resources available are not abused or wasted, WITHOUT resorting to totalitarian control or confiscation. The groundwork is already set and the research has been well underway for such a world system - but in order to implement it there MUST be political responsibility within the majority - we must wake up and stop pretending we are powerless - because that is an abuse of our power and makes us guilty - makes us accessories to the greatest crime ever committed upon humanity - the crime of a world ruined by inequality in the absence of REAL Politicians - this means YOU. 

We may say that we do not understand enough about the world to take responsibility for it. We may say that we do not agree with the way things are going but we have no power to stop it. We may say that we as individuals cannot change this world - and we would be correct - but this IN NO WAY excuses us from political responsibility - and in NO WAY removes us from the consequences of our absence in the political decisions of the world. Just because we cannot change it all ourselves does not give us the justification to not work together and then blame society or the government for our negligence.

Day 6 - The Politics of Protest - Part Two: The Build Before Mass Protest

In the blogs to follow I will introduce the "Anatomy of Protest" from the perspectives of both the protestor as well as the governmental or financial institutions, to give a multidimensional view of protest so that we can see how/why protest is NOT an effective means for permanent change - and while there have indeed been relevant changes to social, economic, and political policy - it has only achieved isolated instances of change that have been short lived, or have only yielded relief from a symptom and have not addressed the core issues.

Tonight we will look at the first stage of protest, which is "The Build". We can see this pattern in every major political protest or instance of political unrest - there is first the BUILD - which I introduced in the previous post :

"The Build – This is where a problem has occurred, and the potential protestor is now frustrated at not seeing a direct and immediate resolution to their problem. Not wanting to misdirect their frustration or cause damage to the innocent, they suppress these frustrations for a moment while dealing with the problem, but become progressively more upset and irrational. This is gasoline and gunpowder starting to accumulate and compound." - Day 5 - The Politics of Protest – Part One: Introducing The Anatomy of Protest

The Dimension of the Protestor and the People - 

As mentioned above in a snippet from the American Declaration of Independence - people are more prone to simply bear and contend with their frustrations as long as it is worth putting up with - as long as it is a minor enough inconvenience that it is not worth putting the entire system into question.

When we experience our frustrations as something personal, or something that we believe we alone are responsible for and chiefly to blame, or when we feel that we are powerless to effectively change our situation because the factors leading to our frustration are beyond our personal control - we will bear the frustration as best we can - we will come up with coping mechanisms or will find other ways to express our discontent.

The problem is that the longer we struggle with issues that we feel we cannot control or cannot fully understand, the more we tend to view the world as being unfair and beyond our ability to change - and this can quickly accumulate into a sense of anger and rage - which keeps on building because the CORE issues of our discontent are NOT being dealt with and there is only so much coping we can do before things become unbearable.

But when we see that we are not alone in our frustrations - when we see that our discontent is shared amongst others - and we start to recognize our pain, our struggles, our coping mechanisms in others - often our attention and focus can shift, as we consider that we are NOT alone in our frustration, which means that there is something going on - something BIGGER than us - that must be to blame.

This is the beginning stage of a potential protestor - who has come to realize to some degree that there are major problems in the current world system that are becoming more and more unbearable - and yet each day we have to make a living - we have to continue to work within the system - we have to continue our survival and in order to not place ourselves into further instability in an already unstable system.

We begrudgingly go to work, pay our taxes, and so long as we are maintaining some level of consistent survival we do not go much further - for as long as things are tolerable - maybe eventually things will get better - because in a way it makes more 'sense' to not rock the boat and risk the relative stability we still have than to risk that relative stability and go against a system that seems beyond our understanding, let alone our reach.

The Dimension of the Institutions and the Elite

At this point the system, the institutions, those who stand in positions of influence and power - have already taken note of the discontent and the potential for more discontent - but even those in positions of "power" must abide by certain rules - rules which dictate that the survival and continued growth of the system, and within this the continued stability of the "ruling class" is the priority - because this is the ONE POINT that is believed to be holding our world together - this is the ONE POINT that must, at all costs - be defended and is a responsibility that those who are not part of the elite will not understand or appreciate.

While the elite of this world do exploit and abuse the honor and dignity of life for the vast majority of life on this planet, it is justified by the very SAME reasoning and logic of the majority of people - that even though their positions of power and responsibility come from MASSIVE abuse and suffering, it is "better" to not go changing things - it is better to bear it and allow the majority of people to continue their suffering, than to challenge the system - because according to the understanding and reasoning of the current elite - even though massive suffering is REQUIRED in order for the current system to continue, the current system is apparently the ONLY system that can maintain a kind of order in this world, simply because it is the only system we have known, and those in positions of power and elite influence consider that it is not only their "RIGHT", but in a way their sacred duty, to maintain this "natural order". 

"The Build" in Both Dimensions

At this point the frustrated majority of people have not yet met the "SPARK" that would ignite their dormant suppressed energies - they are frustrated with a system that does not care for them and they are giving more than their fair share in return for far less than they deserve while the elite continue to benefit without consequence or consideration - but in the interest of stability - even if this stability diminishes the majority - the frustrations will be put up with - the conditions will be accepted - because apparently this is just the way things are.

Meanwhile the elite and the controlling institutions of this world must manage a widely overpopulated, discontent, under-educated, and self-destructive world population that has been forced to accept conditions that should never have been acceptable, in the name of maintaining a world system that DEMANDS suffering and constant growth in order to sustain itself - and that should the "people" come to find out the actual abusive nature of the system and the deliberate suffering it must impose, there would be uncontrollable rage and fury - a kind that must at all cost be prevented - because it may destroy the infrastructures and system placements that would otherwise keep the world in a state of relative balance and control.

So here we see two dimensions of the issue - where the problems are known and are tolerated and we do our best to manage ourselves, our lives, and do what we require to do in order to survive in the system, or to protect the system from a collapse that happens too violently and quickly that it can cause devastating damage worse than simply putting up with it and maintaining it. 

The people contend with and try to survive within their conditions, HOPING that things will eventually get better while the institutions and the world system's leaders and elites KNOW that things will only get worse.

But this is not the END - As I walk this Politician's Journey to Life, I will explain and show the dynamics and dimensions of this and any related issues - so that we do NOT conclude that this is the way things are and that they cannot change - but rather that when we step beyond our limited considerations and begin to see the bigger context - and understand that we are NOT separate from our world and that the workings of our global system are not beyond our capacity for a new direction. 

Therefore I commit myself to show and share my perspectives and how I am learning as I walk my own Politician's Journey to Life - that there IS a WAY OUT for all, if we dare to be the REAL Politicians this world needs.

In the next post I will discuss the next stage - "The Spark" - where things are unbearable - where finally we just cannot take it anymore - where all manner of patience and suffering is pushed beyond the limit and we are no longer able to hold back the unpredictable ignition of our suppressed rage and frustration, again sharing the dimensions of the protestor as we as the perspective of the current system and those in positions of power and responsibility. 

Day 4 - The Politics of political "issues"

Day 4 - The Politics of an Issue

When we allow ourselves to make decisions based on what is "good" or "bad", "right" or "wrong", or what is "moral" or "immoral" - we trap ourselves into a very narrow way of seeing things that prevents us from seeing the full picture and understanding the full context. 

In modern politics, there are many issues which are brought up and presented to the masses - and these issues usually have only a few solutions that are presented by the various political parties and political leaders that are attempting to "address" the issue. 

What is presented is usually in the form of stating the problem, explaining what the cause of the problem is believed to be, and then offering a solution that will fix the problem (usually at great benefit to the person suggesting the solution). But the ACTUAL issue is missed entirely and instead degraded into a form of popularity contest between opposing "solutions" that aim to solve only ONE side of the problem while ignoring the rest.

The consequence here is that the issue is always taken out of context - and instead of seeing the full picture we are trained to react to the "problem" the way that it is presented and shown to us by those who have a vested interest in one type of solution over another - because one type of solution will bring them close to their own agenda and personal interests. 

When any issue becomes politicized instead of being a question posed to the rightful REAL politicians of this world - the consequence is that we remove the issue from it's proper context and we see the issue for only the issue itself - we disconnect all of the relationships and the contextual environments that contribute to that issue, and we also fail to see how this issue itself is interconnected to various other points. 

We must realize and understand that there isn't a single "issue" we are facing in this world that is not intimately connected with everything else - and unless we seriously take that interconnection into consideration, we will always end up having to manage more consequences and more problems, and having to spend more money and time on dealing with the same symptoms - because the ROOT causes are not considered - the actual context is not considered. 

The economic issues we are facing are NOT economic issues and the solution is not an economic adjustment alone.

The social issues we are facing are NOT social issues and the solutions are not social changes alone.

The environmental issues we are facing are NOT environmental issues and the solutions are not environmental solutions alone. 

The mental health issues we are facing are not mental health issues, and the solutions are not mental health therapies alone.

A REAL and lasting solution requires a new kind of interdisciplinary awareness and understanding - the kind that can only come from REAL human beings with REAL insight across the entire spectrum and scope of our world. We need REAL politicians to contribute their insight, their wisdom, their varied and dynamic perspectives - because no single politician or political party in the current system will have the full answer - nor can they see or speak to the full context of our issues.

The REAL politicians are the ones who are not fooled by taking "sides" on any issue - because the REAL politicians understand intimately that all issues are interrelated - and therefore any possible solution that is presented must be a solution that equally addresses the entire context of the problem, in all of its dimensions, and taking into consideration ALL of the interconnected relationships that will be affected - otherwise the "solution" will only end up being a temporary relief of one single symptom instead of being a real, lasting change that benefits all. 

The next most influential political figure is NOT an individual or even a group - it is the ascension and emergence of a long dormant political power that had to been in such a deep slumber that only the very real prospect of the world destroying itself could awaken it's potential. It is the awakening of the REAL politicians from every walk of life, each uniquely and specifically qualified to address the issues they are a part of, and can take responsibility for. 

The posts to follow in this Politician's Journey to Life will begin to introduce the issues that we are currently facing and how we can see the multiple and various dimensions of that issue instead of immediately wanting to 'fix the problem' or immediately jumping to conclusions and taking a side instead of being able to stand IN ALL SIDES, in all possibilities, considering all of the interrelated relationships, and being able to fully see and understand all angles and perspectives, understanding that unless we solve all dimensions of the problem, the problem will only reassert itself.
